Bolido Watchmaker

Awarded the Red Dot Design Award 2018!; the Bólido from the makers of Ventura, a great automatic watch at a friendly price. The new project by Pierre Nobs (founder of Ventura) and Simon Husslein (including designer Ventura/Nomos/Braun) is primarily aimed at direct online sales in order to keep the consumer price low. An agent or importer is passed and we work with a very small dealer network (Marc Lange is the only one in the Netherlands) where the dealer has to settle for a small profit margin. The intended expectation is a good sales result due to a very competitive price for a high-quality watch.

The watch is Swiss made and, given the reputation of the people behind it, will be in line with the beautiful watches from Ventura. The stainless steel case consists of 1 piece and not as usual of 2 or 3 parts and is conducive to water resistance (100mtr/10atm). The case can be opened by a watchmaker using special compressed air equipment. This progressive method also contributes to the affordable production method and ultimately to the consumer price.

The special case shape is accessible to both men and women, see the bottom image for the connection to various wrist sizes. The crown (the button) is in a special position and is extra protected by means of a tube on the case. The Swiss automatic movement is visible through the transparent back cover and the time can be read through a clear and highly scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal. The analog time display has an hour, minute and second hand and also has a date display. The natural rubber strap with stainless steel folding clasp makes it very comfortable to wear and impervious to water and perspiration.
